📸 5 Posing Tips for Women Who Don’t Like Posing
Because you don’t need to be a model to look amazing in photos
Let’s be honest — not everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera. Most of my clients tell me the same thing before a shoot: “I’m not good at posing.”
But the truth is, you don’t have to be. Great portraits come from real emotions, relaxed moments, and a little bit of gentle guidance.
Here are my five go-to tips to help you look (and feel) your best, even if posing isn’t your thing:
1. Move Instead of Freeze
The best photos often come in between the poses — a gentle walk, brushing your hair back, fixing your dress, turning your head. Movement creates natural shapes and helps you forget the camera for a moment.
💡 Tip: I’ll guide you through easy prompts so you’re always doing something, not just “posing.”
2. Use Your Hands
Many people get stuck not knowing what to do with their hands. Try gently touching your neck, face, or playing with your clothes or jewelry. Hands add softness and personality to the frame.
💡 Think “slow motion” movements — delicate and natural.
3. Breathe & Relax Your Shoulders
Tension shows quickly in the body, especially in shoulders and jaw. Before we begin, I always take a few moments to help you relax, breathe, and let everything drop naturally.
💡 Even a small exhale can change the whole photo.
4. Don’t Chase “Perfect”
You don’t need to copy Pinterest poses. We’ll find what works for you — your body language, your personality, your vibe. A genuine smile or thoughtful gaze says more than any perfect pose ever could.
💡 Your energy is what makes the photo special — not symmetry.
5. Trust Your Photographer (That’s Me 😉)
Part of my job is helping you feel confident and seen. I’ll guide you gently the whole time — no awkward silence, no pressure to “perform.” Every shoot is a collaboration, not a test.
